Bruce Grant and his team were great to work with on the remodel of my condo. We did the remodel during Covid and working in a high-rise during that time had numerous challenges. Building closures, limiting the amount of workers, mandatory covid testing and other arbitrary demands. Yet, Bruce and his crew handled every obstacle and delay and conducted themselves with great professionalism and a positive attitude. The end results were and still are superb.

We met Bruce Grant, our builder through friends about seven years ago.  We were in the process of purchasing a fun mid-century home in the Marquez Knolls area with amazing views.  We were so nervous about undertaking such a project but we invited Bruce to attend a walk through with us prior to purchasing our home to get some ideas on what renovations we could do with the bones of this home and what kind of budget we would be looking at to make these changes.  Well with our confidence in Bruce, we dove into the project in 2018.  We pretty much took our home down to the studs.  We were slightly over budget, our additions, and ran a little over time (coastal commission), but overall, we LOVE our home!  We couldn't be happier.  Bruce works with a competent team and the people he has to outsource work with our exceptional as well.     We would recommend Bruce Grant to our friends, family and neighbors for any building or reconstructive jobs.  Plus we've seen his work at several friends' homes and want him back to do more!!!

Most people have a love/hate with their contractors, but I can honestly say that I love Bruce! Bruce Grant was a pleasure to have at our home—he brought such positive energy to the project! We have done two major projects with Bruce Grant and Grant Contracting over the past 10 years and he has become one of our favorite people and the home he made for us is one we want to stay in forever. Bruce Grant was beyond outstanding as the general contractor for our extensive home project.  Because of his vast experience, from the moment he walks onto a property he is able to come up with ideas and solutions.  He truly thinks in 3-D, and we were able to save time and money because we needed an architect to draw up only the minutae of the structural plans since Bruce’s big picture ideas for our remodel were so complete, and that is the norm with him.  He was referred to us by a family member who was thrilled with the results of her project, and we have since referred him to four other friends and family members who have all completed or are in progress with big projects with him and adore him as well.  He truly goes above and beyond.  One of our referrals initially hired a contractor who came in under Bruce’s budget, but ended up firing him and hiring Bruce and wishing they had simply hired him from the start.  He is the consummate problem solver.  He is reliable, experienced, kind, honest, and has an attention to detail and commitment to quality that are unsurpassed; people walking past our home comment all the time that it’s their favorite home in the neighborhood (ours too!)  He also has a great sense of humor which made such a potentially stressful experience instead into such a pleasure.  We had some challenges on our project that I can’t imagine going through with anyone other than Bruce.   He also follows through, and did not abandon us toward the end of the punch list, which is a common complaint about contractors.  He is very professional, hires skilled and trustworthy subs, collaborates beautifully with vendors and designers, and I would feel confident recommending him to anyone.   Our home is beautiful and the quality of the work is still evident ten years after our project was completed.  He once came over late at night in a high rainstorm when a new drain was clogged and fixed it himself, and another time one of his former clients had been in a fender bender and he noticed and pulled over to help with bottles of water; you can count on him.  Please know that you are in great hands if you are fortunate enough to work with such a skilled and dependable contractor, and such a kind and honest man.   Especially if you are rebuilding after losing a home in the fires, I trust him to be not only sensitive to such a terrible loss, but also the ultimate resource, go-to, and point person.  I’m happy to make the time to discuss his work with anyone considering hiring Bruce Grant and his team.

We were introduced to Bruce after witnessing and enjoying the projects he's worked on at our friends' homes over the years. We were inspired to create a similar indoor/outdoor lifestyle for our Calabasas home. This entailed remodeling our breakfast nook, building a large balcony to create our loggia space, and a full redevelopment of our front and backyards. The project was complex because we had so many items on our wish list. For our front yard, we wanted more parking available for our teenagers while also adding visual curb appeal through landscaping. For the backyard, we wanted to remodel our pool with a larger jacuzzi and have more usable space for a firepit in addition to our loggia with a fireplace. For the breakfast nook remodel, we needed it to blend with our existing kitchen but also incorporate a custom built-in 200 gallon saltwater aquarium. We could not be happier with how everything turned out. We are loving spending time in our new spaces.   Bruce has been in the business for decades and his experience shows. He was creative in solving problems encountered throughout the project, and we still appreciate the little details today including having electrical plugs under our outdoor dining table so the kids can plug in their laptops while sitting outside. He also suggested the heaters on the ceiling of our loggia which keeps us toasty for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners outside. Bruce worked so well with our wonderful landscape architect and all of the sub-contractors, which were many. He chose quality sub-contractors but was also conscious of cost and budget. He has a great eye for style and was focused on making sure the new construction blended as seamlessly as possible with our existing structure. The quality of his work shows as the loggia appears to be original to the design of our home. While there were some delays here and there, it is not unexpected when so many trades were involved and with the amount of rain over the last couple years. Best of all, Bruce is a great person, has such a cheerful disposition, and is nice to work with. When working on a large scale project, having a GC that feels like a friend makes the project infinitely better. We highly recommend Bruce for any construction project.

Bruce has been working on a large home remodel/expansion project for our family. He is a pleasure to work with, resourceful and an amazing problem solver.
